Vespa, Honda, Heinkel, Cushman, Peugeot, and many other firms have produced scooters for years. Even iconic Harley Davidson produced a scooter...the "Topper" which is a very rare find today.

The world's iconic scooters hail from all over the globe, demonstrating a seemingly universal love for these machines from every corner of the globe.

I've been enamored with the venerable motor "scooter" for years.  Too many years actually, but it is, as they say, what it is.  YES, I've had my daliances with the more traditional (mundane?) motorcycle or three, but I always find myself back on a step-through scooter of one type or another.  Geek? I'd like not to think so. Scooter Geek? I'll wear that moniker proudly. Explore further to find out why...

Although many consider the scooter to be the Rodney Dangerfield of "the motorcycling world", I'm here to show you that the scooter is indeed a viable, efficient, and downright pleasant mode of transportation of all kinds. From newbies to the riding world, to longtime riders who have explored every other motorcycling niche throughout their riding careers, to the rich and famous...the scooter bug can hit anyone!

Let's look at what gives the scooter it's worldwide appeal; an easy to mount "step-thru" design that nearly anyone can appreciate, sleek, enclosed mechanicals reduce heat and noise while increasing  styling potential, larger than anticipated cargo carrying prowess, and uncanny ability to take us nearly anywhere we'd like to go on 2 wheels, shall we?   But first, let me whet your appetite by sharing a few moments on Vespas with my wife and myself....
